Lille is located in the North of France, near Belgium; it is the 4th largest metropolitan area in France with more than 1 million inhabitants. The city has a strong industrial background, but, after many difficult years, it is now known throughout France for its handsome city center, very active student life and its very active cultural life (European Capital of Culture 2004).
How to get there
Lille is an important crossroads in the European network. It has frequent (hourly or bi-hourly) TGV connections to Paris (1hour, 51.30 € ), as well as Eurostar connections to Brussels (35min, from 24.60 €) and London (1h45min, from 202.50 €).
Wambrechies is located 15 minutes away from Lille, and Jacques has been living there for 23 years. His parents moved there soon after his birth. The city is famous for its Gin Distillery. The wedding will take place in Wambrechies at the St Chrysole farm.
